Choosing what to wear for your headshots is important because your headshot is often your first impression—on LinkedIn, a company website, or personal brand materials. The right clothing, makeup, and grooming choices can boost your confidence and help communicate professionalism, personality, and polish. This guide offers expert tips to ensure you look your absolute best in front of the camera.

What to Wear for Headshots: Best Practices

• Fit:
  • Choose clothing that fits well—not too tight or too loose. Avoid baggy or loose clothing as it will make you appear larger in photos than you really are. Wearing clothes that are too tight will lead to bulging, wrinkles, tugging and pulling.
  • Shoulder pads: If possible, it’s best to choose jackets and blazers without them. They give a more boxy and wide look, but also give a feeling of tension rather than relaxation.
• Fabric:
  • Matte fabrics photograph better than shiny or reflective materials. Thin, stretchy polyester or velvet highlight bumps and creases.
• Style:
  • Keep it simple and timeless. Classic styles age better than trendy pieces.
  • Wear long sleeve or three-quarter length sleeves. Headshots are usually taken at a slight side angle, which puts your arm on display. Longer sleeves take the focus away from your arm and put the focus on your face. If you decide on a tank top, bring a sweater along so we can get shots with both.
• Colors:
  • Solid colors are best. Jewel tones (emerald, navy, burgundy) flatter most skin tones. Color is usually preferred for most professional headshots to convey a more approachable and friendly image.
  • Do not wear neon, overly bright, or flesh-toned colors.
  • Black, White and Neutrals: Black and white has a timeless, classic appeal if you’re looking to have a more traditional aesthetic. I love paring black and white with neutrals (tan, camel, champagne, taupe, or charcoal gray) to keep it modern, yet classic.
• Patterns:
  • Avoid busy patterns, stripes, and logos.
    • Small patterns, stripes, or textures create a moire effect and look warped or wavy on camera.
    • Logos are distracting and should not be worn, unless it is your company logo.
    • Subtle textures are okay – a medium sized floral print or plaid under a solid top can be really flattering and add visual interest to your photo.
• Industry:
  • Keep your profession in mind when planning your outfits. For example, Lawyers or Real Estate agents typically wear suits while those in industries like tech or creative fields might dress more casually. In any case, bring clothes that are slightly more formal than your everyday attire along with any industry standard (ex. white coat for doctors).
• Glasses
  • Only wear glasses without reflective coating, if at all possible. Glasses that produce that purple tint that is so helpful for screen glare is an absolute nightmare for photos. Please bring a pair without coating. I’ve had clients pop out their lenses for their photos, but only at their comfort level.
    • If reflective glasses are worn, we have to take every photo with and without the glasses to ensure we have everything we need to edit them well. It increases the length of time to take your photos and the time it takes to get your edits back.
  • Make sure lenses are clean before your headshots.

What To Wear For Headshots: Women

Tops: Solid-colored blouses, simple dresses, or professional tops. Structured tops and blazers add polish.

What to Wear For Headshots: Men

• Shirts:
  • Solid button-down shirts or dress shirts in muted tones. Light blue, gray, navy, and white are all safe and professional choices.
  • Undershirts: If worn, make sure undershirts are not visible. A V-neck in a skin-tone color works best under light dress shirts.
• Blazers:
  • A tailored blazer instantly elevates your look and adds structure. Choose a classic color like navy, charcoal, or black.
• Ties (optional):
  • Depending on your profession, a tie can add polish. For corporate or formal looks, a simple tie with minimal pattern works well. For creative or casual industries, skip the tie for a more relaxed vibe.
• Layering:
  • A sweater under a blazer or over a collared shirt gives a smart, approachable look.
  • Avoid bulky layers that add visual weight.
  • Lighter layers should be worn underneath with the darker color over in the suit jacket or sweater.
• Fit:
  • Ensure shirts are not too loose or too tight. Collars should sit properly without gaping, and sleeves should reach just to the wrist. Well-fitting clothing instantly improves your appearance on camera.
  • Be comfortable! If you’re tugging on your clothes because it’s too tight or too loose, chances are you won’t like your photos as much. Well fitting clothes and feeling comfortable go a long way.
• Watch or Accessories:
  • A professional watch can add a refined touch, but keep accessories simple and clean.

Hair and Makeup Tips for Headshots and Professional Photos

It’s best to keep makeup natural. Aim for an everyday look.

In advance:

• Wear sunscreen when you’re outside. There are no great editing fixes for raccoon eyes or tan lines.
• Do NOT get a spray tan, use sunless tanning lotion, or go tanning before your session. These usually result in looking a little orange. Your natural skin will photograph the very best.
• Avoid any major skincare treatment the week of your photos. We want to make sure you have enough time to have redness disappear.

Here are some tips in what to do and how to apply:

Makeup Tips for Headshots for Women

• Base: Go for matte or satin-finish foundation. Avoid overly dewy products.
• Powder: Use translucent powder to eliminate shine.
• Eyes:
  • Define brows and lashes.
  • Use neutral tones for eyeshadow. I find that matte eyeshadow has more presence than a shimmer or high shine. The shine will pick up light and mute the overall makeup. Shimmer may also fall into the creases and lines under your eyes accentuating them.
  • Use black mascara. Going over your lashes two or three times will coat them well. For some, it may feel like you’re wearing too much, but we want to see them. It takes a little more than usual.
  • Fake lashes: If you’re going to wear them, avoid really long ones. Fake lashes are great for further back shots, but heashots are close enough that your natural lashes will look most natural.
• Lips:
  • Use a color close to your natural lip tone or a soft pink/rose.
  • Wearing a lipstick one shade darker than your natural color will be the most natural.
  • Wearing a bold or dark tone can make your lips look thinner and detract from your eyes.
• Blush: Adds a healthy glow but should be blended well.

Hair Tips for Headshots for Women

• Haircut: Schedule a haircut a couple weeks in advance rather than right before your session just in case you don’t love it, need time to learn to style it, and to give it time to soften those blunt edges.
• Clean & Styled:
  • Hair should be clean and styled the way you typically wear it.
  • Do not do buns or ponytails – it will look like you have no hair.
• Volume: Add some volume to avoid flat hair.
• Flyaways: Use a smoothing serum or light hairspray.
• Avoid Drastic Changes:
  • Don’t try a new style the day before. If you’re looking for something new, give yourself time to style your hair in a way that you love.

Hair & Grooming Tips for Men

• Haircut: Get a trim a few days before the session. Drastic changes should be tested in advance to make sure it is the look you want.
• Beard: Trim or shave cleanly depending on your usual style.
• Eyebrows: Tidy up stray hairs.
• Skincare: Use moisturizer and blotting paper to control shine. Some men choose to wear a light layer of powder to reduce shine as well. Matte foundation is always best.

What to Bring to your Session

• Outfit Options: Bring 2-3 tops to try on with the backdrop.
• Touch-Up Items: Lip balm, hairbrush, blotting papers, powder, makeup.
• Accessories: Keep them minimal and classic.
• Ironed Clothes:
  • Arrive with all clothing pressed and lint-free. Wrinkles are very hard to edit out. Try to hang up extra clothes so they avoid getting wrinkled in the car or office before your session.
• Bring touch up items with you just in case: makeup, hairbrush/comb, lint roller.

• Should I wear black? Yes, if it suits you—but add some contrast like a blazer or necklace.
• What if I wear glasses? Clean them and avoid transition lenses.

One of the first questions I get from excited (and sometimes overwhelmed) seniors and their parents is:

“When is the best time for senior pictures and when should I schedule them?”

Great question—and the answer depends on a few things: your schedule, your style, when yearbook submissions are due, and how you plan to use the photos. Let’s walk through the options so you can find the best time for you.

🌸 Spring Sessions (March–May)

Best for:
Fresh florals, soft light, and a light, airy vibe.

Pros:

• Flowers and greenery are starting to pop, which makes for a beautiful, cheerful backdrop.
• Great option if you didn’t get photos done in the fall and want to squeeze them in before graduation. Equally as awesome – if you take them the Spring of your Junior year, you’re ahead of the game!
• The weather is starting to warm up, but it’s not too hot.

Things to consider:

• Spring can be unpredictable with rain and allergies. I always keep a few backup dates open just in case!

☀️ Summer Sessions (June–August)

Best for:
Golden sunsets, lush greenery, and no school to worry about!

Pros:

• Your schedule is likely more flexible without school and activities.
• You’ll be ahead of the game—plenty of time to use photos for yearbooks, announcements, or party invites.
• Gorgeous golden-hour lighting and full, green landscapes.

Things to consider:

• It can get hot, especially in July and August, so evening sessions are best.
• Popular time for sessions, so it’s a good idea to book early!

🍂 Fall Sessions (September–November)

Best for:
Warm colors, cozy outfits, and that classic autumn glow.

Pros:

• Vibrant leaves and soft sunsets make for stunning backdrops.
• Sweaters, boots, and fall vibes always photograph beautifully.
• It’s early enough in the school year to stay ahead of deadlines.

Things to consider:

• This is a busy time with school starting back up and fall sports, so booking ahead is key.
• Leaves change quickly—if you want peak fall color, let’s plan it just right! Also, leaves are unpredictable, so we may get color…and we may not.
• The weather can flip on a dime. It could be as warm as summer, rainy like spring, or frigid!

❄️ Winter Sessions (December–February)

(*Ahem, Maybe March and April too)

Best for:
Moody, minimalist vibes or a snowy dreamland.

Pros:

• If you love coats, scarves, or a more dramatic look, winter sessions can be magical.
• Locations are often quieter, and you might get lucky with a snow day.

Things to consider:

• Outdoor sessions can be chilly, so we’ll plan around that or keep it short and sweet.
• Daylight is limited, so sessions are usually in the early afternoon.
• Finding evergreens is a must if you want color. Other trees will look like…well…dead sticks. However, even dead sticks can look awesome after a new snowfall.

Here are 10 things to do in Ann Arbor this Spring with all of your kids- no matter their age! Michigan likes to pretend it’s winter in the middle of April, so look for the “Rainy Day Bonus” for inside options on those cold days.  

Spring in Ann Arbor is pure magic! The flowers start blooming, the sun peeks out a little longer, and after months of chilly weather, we’re all itching to get outside. If you’re looking for ways to soak up the season with your family, look no further! Let’s get started…

1. Stroll and Play at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens

Nothing says “spring” like fresh flowers and winding garden paths! The trails at Matthaei Botanical Gardens are perfect for a family nature walk, and little ones will love spotting butterflies and frogs along the way. Bonus tip: Bring a picnic and enjoy lunch in the gardens. And of course, don’t forget to snap a few photos—this place is a dreamy backdrop for springtime memories!  

 

Rainy Day Bonus: If it’s cold outside, the conservatory is so fun to walk through. it’s warm, away from the elements, and you get to learn about different climates AND get a break from the “winter-spring” outside.

2. Hunt for Hidden Fairy Doors Around Town

Did you know Ann Arbor is home to hidden fairy doors? These tiny, magical doors are scattered throughout downtown, tucked into walls, cafes, and storefronts. Kids of all ages will love going on a scavenger hunt to find them! Start at the Ann Arbor District Library and see how many you can spot. Don’t forget to leave a tiny note or drawing for the fairies—it’s all part of the magic!

Rainy Day Bonus: If you’re feeling fun and adventurous, take an umbrella and jump in all the puddles along the way. Maybe even pack extra clothes or towels for the ride home.

 

3. Explore the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum

Okay, so spring in Michigan sometimes means surprise rain showers. But that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is a family favorite with interactive exhibits that entertain everyone—from toddlers to teens. Pro tip: Check their calendar for special events and science shows!

Rainy Day Bonus: All indoors, so you don’t have to worry about anything but fun! My pro-tip is to take hand sanitizer and/or wash your hands frequently. Although we have always had so much fun here, we have also brought home an accompanying week off of school afterwards as well. *Cough *Sniffle *Sneeze

4. Visit Domino’s Farms for a Barnyard Adventure

Who doesn’t love baby animals in the spring? Head over to Domino’s Farms to see adorable goats, cows, and sheep up close. Kids can feed the animals, take a hayride, and enjoy the fresh spring air. (And let’s be real—nothing makes for a cuter family photo than a toddler giggling at a baby goat!)

5. Take a Sweet Treat Tour of Downtown Ann Arbor

Spring is the perfect time to stroll through downtown and indulge in some local goodies! Stop by Washtenaw Dairy for legendary ice cream, swing by Sweetwaters for a fancy hot chocolate (because let’s be honest, Michigan spring isn’t always warm), and wrap up at Zingerman’s Bakehouse for the best cookies in town.

6. Check Out the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History

Dinosaurs, fossils, and a planetarium—need we say more? The U-M Museum of Natural History is a fantastic spot for curious kids and budding scientists. It’s a great way to spend a cooler spring day while still keeping the fun (and learning) going! Bonus is that it’s free! Click HERE for hours. 

Rainy Day Bonus: All indoors and such a fun time for anyone who loves dinosaurs! We go for the fossils, rocks, games, learning, and more. Definitely worth a day out of the house and a couple hours of distraction and fun. 

7. Visit a Local Farmers Market

The Ann Arbor Farmers Market in Kerrytown is in full swing come springtime! Let the kids pick out fresh produce, sample baked goods, and chat with local vendors. It’s a great way to support the community while enjoying the vibrant sights and smells of spring.

 

8. Have an Indoor Climbing Adventure at Planet Rock

For a fun way to burn off some energy, take the family to Planet Rock for indoor climbing. With walls for all skill levels, even young kids can get in on the action. It’s a great way to keep active on a rainy or chilly spring day.

Rainy Day Bonus: Kids will sleep better when the get exhausted. Need I say more?

 

9. Go on a Library Adventure

The Ann Arbor District Library offers more than just books! Check out their events calendar for family-friendly activities like story time, craft sessions, and even hands-on STEAM programs. Plus, it’s the perfect cozy spot for a relaxed afternoon.

Rainy Day Bonus: Take home a pile of books, break out the blankets and make a reading fort. They’ll have hours of fun and story time, while you get to snap a few photos of your genius day and maybe even take a nap afterward.

 

10. Take a Scenic Drive to See the Blossoms

Sometimes, the best adventures are the simple ones! Pack up the car, grab some snacks, and take a scenic drive around Ann Arbor to admire the cherry blossoms and spring blooms. Nichols Arboretum and Gallup Park are great places to stop for a stroll and some breathtaking springtime views. If you’re really craving flowers, Tulips in Holland are absolutely incredible! The best time to see them is May, so get ready to soak up some beautiful weather and walk through thousands of gorgeous blooms.

Belle Lavande Lavender Farm

One thing you have to be aware of about lavender farms is the bees. They are pretty much everywhere. I am afraid of very few things, but bees just happen to be one of them (hello allergies). After about 10 minutes wandering around this lavender field, it is very clear that bees have way more to do than pay attention to anyone walking or sitting nearby. So grateful Jenna and Doug also seemed to be unaffected by them. They were so good about trying any pose, getting up and down, walking through the bees, and getting pictures from every angle.

Enjoy this little peek into this sweet lavender farm mini-session.

My favorite pictures, the ones that make me audibly go “aaaaawwwww!”, are the ones with Mckenna and each parent. Seeing those cute little moments when your babies are so little just melt my heart. Kids grow up way too fast, and it’s so wonderful to have photos to remember these cute little ages. But! My all time favorite photo from their session is the family picture walking through the lavender. The sun was getting lower in the sky, the lighting was nearing perfection, and all the colors are out there absolutely killing it. Wearing light colors in a field of purple and green had a huge punch factor in the very best way! I loved it so much that I listed it first – so we can all look at it a little longer.

Definitely recommend these outfit choices for this location! Light colors just bouncing off of the purples and greens are the way to go! During sessions, I often giggle or get a little too excited about how beautiful the shot is….and people just don’t believe me, I guess. That leads me to the next part…

The funniest moment to me was the reveal session. After I showed them a slideshow of their insanely gorgeous family, they said, “Wow, they look so good! I just didn’t think they’d turn out so well.” This is not an uncommon thing for me to hear. So, if you’re thinking, “Yeah, but my family isn’t that cute” or “Well, we just aren’t them, so our pictures won’t look that good”, I am here to tell you…ahem…in the kindest way, that you’re 110% wrong. I actually love it when I hear phrases of surprise. I always want you to love your photos more than you thought you would!

Top 5 best Ann Arbor Photoshoot Locations

1. Hudson Mills Metropark

Hudson mills is a great location in any season. It’s beautiful in the spring with all of the trees, bridges, and paths. It adds tall grasses in the summer and it really packs a punch in the fall with all of the colors! The trees here can look like fairy-tales in Autumn.

There are several locations here as well – three turnouts off the main road. The first will give a big open field, tall grasses, a bridge not too far from the parking lot, and some great views of the river.

The second gives some beautiful views of the trees and fall colors, tall grasses, plus a dirt road that I adore. It’s also great for bribing little kids if they want to play at the park…or tempting them. Lots of families will reward their littles with some park time after their session.

The third turnout has a beautiful field with tall grasses that really lights up at golden hour.

There is a fee required for the metroparks – $10 daily pass or $40 annual pass.

2. Lillie Park

Lillie park is so gorgeous! There are walking paths that go all around the lake and so many different kinds of trees so it’s easy to get different looks all around the park. Additionally, session times are a little more varied here because there are so many different places we can start that will allow for good light, so this is a great option if you have littles that need to go to bed earlier.

If you’re wanting pictures in front of the lake, waiting until the sun is lower in the sky will be key if you’re having a session in the evening. Sessions in the morning would be magic as well, but you’d want to start early.

Parking is relatively easy. There is a parking lot at the top of the park and there is a fair amount of walking to get to the lake and then to walk around the park, but it’s all paved and very easy to access.

3. Sharon Mills Park

Sharon Mills is one of my all time favorite locations. There is hardly anyone there when I have sessions, so we have the whole place to ourselves…usually. It is full of surprises and has so many gorgeous views around every corner. This park really is the the most bang for your buck as far as variety goes. There are two bridges, a waterfall, a gorgeous white building, a pergola, beautiful landscaping, and more.

It’s great for little kids as it gives a lot of things to look at, but also has a large field to run around in when there are wiggles to get out. It’s also perfect for senior and engagement sessions because there is much beauty in one place.

Drive time from Dexter, Ann Arbor, or Saline is about 30 minutes and 15 from downtown Chelsea.

4. University of Michigan

University of Michigan is stunning if you really want to get some amazing architecture in your photos. Morning sessions are great because the buildings help with great light! There is so much variety here and it’s beautiful all year long. Walking around campus will give you so many good options. My first favorites are the Law Quad and the Museum of Art.

Prepare for a lot of people being on the grounds at the Quad, especially during the summer and fall.

During the winter, the buildings will still make it beautiful and look more alive, but bundle up because it is so cold!

5. Downtown Ann Arbor

Downtown Ann Arbor has so much going on and so many places to go! There is  the perfect picture spot around almost every corner. You really can’t go wrong. There are graffiti and rock walls, stairs and shops. The art museum is beautiful with it’s perfect architectural walls and design with campus offering loads of opportunity as well.

Prepare for a lot of walking! Parking can be hard to come by around campus. You can either choose one spot to focus on, or we can walk all over.

Great for winter sessions as well!

BONUS: Belle Levande Lavender Farm

I have to leave a bonus location for you! It’s about 45 minutes away from Ann arbor, and Oh. My. Goodness. It is the most breathtaking Lavender field around. Rolling hills, a gorgeous white barn, a beautiful treeline, you name it!

Parking is easy. One thing to always be aware of at a lavender farm is bees. I have never gotten stung during a session and these bees have way more important things to do than bother you. However, if you have an allergy, definitely be aware.

Lavender blooms in July for about 2 weeks, so if you’re wanting a session at a Lavender Farm, reach out and schedule it before it’s all booked up. Photographers will coordinate with the farm to plan session times for you, but it is subject to availability.

You did it! You’re here! It’s finally your senior year and it’s your turn. That means you’re at the beginning of closing one chapter of your life and moving on to the next. I’d bet money that you’re so excited for this journey to be complete. You’re ready to take the next step, but there are several things you may be nervous about too. College, moving out, making new friends, jobs, etc. Let me tell you one thing: As you start your senior year, do not let your senior photos be something that you’re nervous about. 

You may be feeling that you’re not that photogenic. Other people are, but you’re not. Maybe you feel you’re not that interesting and don’t have a story to share. That you have absolutely nothing to wear. Well, let me tell you something. 

Almost Everyone feels this way. You’re totally normal. 

You do have a story to share! I know you have clothes to wear (or else we’re addressing something else entirely), and the term “photogenic” is somewhat of a lie. It’s a loaded word and a whole topic in and of itself (posing, lighting, camera angle, etc.). 

So, drumroll please, let’s talk about….

3 Tips on How to Choose Your Senior Photographer

1. Style

This may sound obvious, I know, let’s talk about it for a second. When you’re looking for a photographer, make sure you like their style. You like how their pictures make you feel. If you like bright, colorful photos then don’t choose a photographer whose images give off a dark and moody vibe. There’s more to this than purely “editing style”. A photographer’s style includes locations, clothing colors, light priority, and posing – among other things. It doesn’t mean that you can’t wear a dark colors when you like bright photos. I love to pair black clothes with a brighter environment to give it some really beautiful contrast. Your photographer will be able to coach you though this!

2. Communication and Comfort

Have a little chat with your photographer about what you want from your senior session. See if you like them and feel comfortable with them. Ask for location recommendations and see if they’re helpful.

If you feel comfortable with your photographer it will be easier for you to talk with them about things you may feel self-conscious about. It’s important to know because we think you’re flawless. What you’re seeing, we don’t always feel the same way. You want a photographer that you can talk to and who knows how to help in a positive way.  

We want you to feel your very best and information is our greatest ally.

3. Personalization

There are lot of little things that go into your senior session. Do you care about it being super generic, or do you want it to look and feel like YOU? Personalizing your session is such a fun way to make your senior sessions more fun, reflect your personality, and showcase what you love. This could be in location, props, themes, outfits, and products you order.

4. Bonus: Treats!

This is just a tip for you, but after you have your session, get yourself a treat! If you in downtown Ann Arbor, my top choice is always CANNELLE. Oh my goodness, it’s amazing. It’s best to get there early in the day for the best picks, so it’s work going back for. Head there on Washington Street for a beautiful french treat that’s to die for!

Adorable In-Home Ann Arbor Newborn Session

If you’re thinking the newborn stage flies by in a blink, imagine sweet Chloe here…she’s already a month old (cue tears)! We all weren’t exactly sure how she would be during the session just because one month olds aren’t as sleepy as newborns, but we have a major snuggly baby on our hands. Oh my goodness, she is so sweet. Once she was all wrapped up and bundled, she let us move her all over the place and only woke up enough for a few open-eyed photos before she went back to sleep. She was an absolute dream. We can’t forget about the adorable Miss Emma. Have you ever seen a cuter pair of sisters? They are so close in age and are going to be the best of friends, I’m sure of it. I’m happy to admit that I introduced Emma to her first ever marshmallow bribery. Once she had them she was sure to not let the supply stop coming and it cracks me up. We were never fast enough at getting them in her mouth. 😂

Francis and Billy, thank you! I had so much fun with both of you and your sweet girls! You have such a beautiful family and I have loved getting to know you. You are both so fun and kind and I felt instantly welcome. I can’t wait to see all the new experiences you have as a family and around more family when you get back. Ann Arbor will definitely miss you later this year!

Also, a huge thank you for letting me hold and snuggle Chloe. She was very impressionable in making me want another baby…or ten. 😂 💕

Spunky and Sweet Home Newborn Session | Ann Arbor

We started this session off in all the right ways. We had some amazing toddler energy playing hide and seek, marshmallows for bribery (WHY have I never thought of this?! No fearing chocolate stains), and the money shot family picture within the first few minutes. Way to go, guys!

Reid – most patient dad ever. I don’t say that lightly because I have seen my own husband lose his mind and then vow to never do family pictures again. Huge props to the dad of the year over here! I loved chatting with Cass while we were waiting for sweet Collins to eat and sleep again. Such an amazing woman, mom, and example! So grateful I got to hear her story – it’s truly inspiring.

Titan was the champion of the day – he was so good for so long! It’s not easy being the big brother and having to listen for so long, but he was seriously a rock star. Lucy, I could kiss her for giving us such fun moments and some smiles! Those are triumphant moments for me when you get the shot you want, but better because it has all the personality too. Honest – they’re my favorites!

And Collins, oh my goodness, so perfect. She has such a beautiful, petite little face and was so good at opening her little hands up for me. She can also sleep through anything! We moved her so many times, unwrapped and wrapped her up, had bouncing going on all around and she was a dream.

Donakey Family, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these beautiful moments for you! Your family is so sweet, and it was great getting to know you guys better. Can’t wait to see where life takes you and all the exciting things you get to do with your fun family!

Tecumseh Park Extended Family Session

Amber and I chatted about this session about a month prior and it didn’t look like things were going to work out. Their family was going to be here in Michigan for Thanksgiving and I was leaving to Ohio – with no overlap. It’s always such a busy time. I was so sad to miss them!

Turned out that everyone was staying one day later than we had originally thought and we got to meet in the morning before anyone flew out that night. So glad everything worked out! It was super chilly, so we were grateful for cars close by as we warmed people up in between groupings. They were super glad to get warm and head for breakfast as soon as it was over – they deserved it!

The lake at Tecumseh Park is called “The Pit”. What? That doesn’t even make sense. It’s so pretty- even in the winter! I was kind of nervous that having trees with no leaves in the background was going to be a little lackluster since only brown sticks would be reflected in the water, but I am so glad that it’s not the case at all. This “pit” is so pretty that it makes everything look beautiful!

I love getting all the family groupings and showing every stage their in. We had it all: the fun and exciting dating stage, the almost having your first baby stage, the 9 month adorable baby cheeks and young parents stage, and the two slightly older kids family stage. It was so fun to pause everyone right now and have it all done at the same time. Everyone was so fun to work with and so willing to freeze for me! ❤️
